ALEK

A documentary about Aleksander Maliszewski, a composer of popular music and a charismatic conductor, founder of Alex Band Orchestra. At the moment of making the movie Alek was one of the most recognised figures of the Polish entertainment industry. His popularity was based not only on the hits he composed but the fact that between 1984–1988, 1995–1998 he was the music manager of the International Song Festival in Sopot. Aleksander Maliszewski cooperated with the most popular Polish singers of the 1980s and 90s.

The film shows Aleksander Maliszewski as he is known by his colleagues, acquaintances and friends. This is, then, a portrait of a seasoned professional, a vivacious conductor, and a joyful and kind-hearted person.
